repost from elsewhere, just sharing and being honest here

Quote
With the first one, it was actually his wife who phoned me and filled me in on the fact that he was married!! Funny, eh? She wasn't angry at me, or abusive, but was more or less pleading her case as to why I should step aside and let her have her man. She needn't have bothered. as soon as I found out he was married I'd lost interest. I don't date liars and people who try and make an idiot out of me. She had him at hello,(as soon as I answered the phone with hello, that is!) as far as I was concerned!!

"...I must be odd then, as that type of deception just seems a 24/7 burden for some short term gratification or ego boost but, either way, the real life me is fast becoming a walking shadow of its Internet counterpart here....", one where the goblin simply divided up his needs, depending, between "porn", other people's company, and his "journey to self" again, while all along the old fart writing this had by now become passed master at deflection and invisibility in his real life, "...sorry, I know I should care about this Wendy in its "dailylife" more, but my Internet Peter Pan just seems so much more dynamic..." ventured the goblin at it all

the goblin was thinking about how the sky darkens early this time of year, with a wind who, like Autumn's acrobat,  simply sweeps up and gyrates that mosaic carpet beneath those trees that lines both side the street in ever changing kaleidescope of patterns, and where the air smells as it did once,  of damp foliage, in the dark, definitely warm and intense then, "...in fact, it's the time of year I love most then..." started the goblin continuing "...where as a child I kicked through these leaves that  I so carefully walk over now, where that drifting smell of burnt chestnuts from somewhere, or that real worry, of whether Dr Who can  really save this world from the invading daleks,  which seemed so much more pressing than any sudden shooting of a president or some far away war that barely registered on my little radar...", other thoughts now,  like fireworks in the garden, with dad playing  the grand magician's role to a raging bonfire, surfaced, "...oh yes, all that was Autumn in my childhood then, and this Autumn too, carries me back there once more, a spell perhaps, or some mere association then,  but anyway a vision as real to my eyes as it is gone to my touch, what of it, I salute it in its passing once more..."

("...ah, but that wasn't explained, nor shown on black and white television..."  mentioned the goblin who never once let them find him behind the large sofa though it was often a close call he remembered, adding "...the sofa got smaller with the years then, wouldn't work now...")

repost from elsewhere again

"...no she never really forgives, does she..." said the goblin "...though she might let it pass for a while that is, it will return between them again, these things always do you know, while he for his part lives in fear if he values her, or as some trapped fool if he doesn't, where mistrust, disappointment, regret, shame and a whole bunch of other inner emotions flog the backs of their relationship from that point on..." mentioned the goblin who would never confess it, nor repeat it, nor ever talk about it now, just that from somewhere inside he knew he knew

("...yes, I like Dr Who too, but it's better when one is very small, I remember watch some of the old "black and white" ones recently but it's not the same now..." mentioned the goblin again)

repost from elsewhere, just sharing, some subject as before different reply

Quote from: xxxxxr
xxxxx ponders the sayings that the goblin has posted and sums it up with 2 words. Free Will.... the goblin as well as everyone has a choice, to do what is right or to do their own thing.

"...ah yes "ones free will" again..." voiced the goblin continuing "...oh but there's that rub each time, that God cannot not know what a man will choose here since he knows everything down to the finest detail, both of what we will choose for ourselves now and of how it will turn out too, he is in effect the instigator of a situation that he himself has made here, is he not..." voiced  the goblin again and, although theologians had throughout history tried to square this circle, the goblin just reminded himself of something, saying "...it's only when I take "reward" out of the equation that what remains is a certain honesty towards my actions here, "do good because it good to", so speculation would just distort that honestly I feel..."

"...well my being still alive is debatable I suppose, I mean, being a persona on the Internet that doesn't have a physical form but, apart from that minor point, I am still very much here for you as ever and always..." mentioned the goblin who simply wished that he could be more everywhere then,  adding "...oh how this Internet is so fathomless to my every effort, it's like skimming some flat pebbles across its immense endless surface, where it first accepts them, then halts them and finally swallows them down like everything that I have ever thrown across its surface, where neither those splashes, the number of bounds, nor the extent of the ripples, make any difference to it in the end, save only perhaps, that "my skimming stones across its surface" was its gift to me and what my life really needed now...",

repost from elsewhere, the "dear diary" thread

the goblin today almost verged on his own sanity with a dead acceptance, heaven forbid that though, when what his heart really yearned for, was to imagine her sitting striding him on the bed, with his ever fumbling fingers of his two eager but grateful hands slowly proceeded upwards undoing each button in turn, and that amazing sense of Christmas at it all, but no, not just in some old memory of it here, no, to actually feel her weight upon him now, with that contrast between those hard buttons and that soft fabric around them in his fingers once more, those cascading interfering locks perhaps, that pleasant mildly musty smell, and her young guilty ever attentive smile upon him, followed by his arms dropping the garment over her shoulders to an unmistakable soft ocean of skin to his body's touch. "...so no, I don't want this cold sanity of today please, nor all this "what one should be doing at one age" prison then, when really I just want to clasp back even once to hold her like that in some overwhelming burning sensation of excitement and expectation again..." confessed the goblin, like it had been for him then, in those few unforgettable moments together with her, all that long ago now

"...often when writing something out here, I feel this "dailylife" to be just superficial..." ventured the goblin continuing "...perhaps it is madness to talk to ghosts of the past here, when every logical reason has it that I am alone just looking at the slot knowing that the others are apart from me now, as in elsewhere then, so my son is in the next room, my wife is in the kitchen, my daughter is having a night out with friends, my father is abroad, etc., but anyone looking from afar might laugh saying "of course your son is with you he is next door, and your wife is with you too, she is only in the kitchen, and your daughter is still with you, and your dad just lives abroad now, such a short distance then"...", the goblin paused to a moment to conclude, and then said "...so "near" or "far" is just where we decide our loved ones to be isn't it, and perhaps physically I am just alone here facing a slot as always, but I am often talking to the ghosts of the past in this present it seems, "dailylife" continues, true, but that's no reason to draw silly dividing lines in the sand, time's tide is a shared fate for us all here, there is no divide where ones feelings are concerned, and all things physical are just borrowed anyway..."

"...somehow the temptation is always to meet, isn't it, to reveal oneself,  to post photos, etc., but for me that seems as cheap as facebook is, so no, for what I really want here, is to be able to share my thoughts and feelings to the full now, and how can I possibly do that if I have to keep in mind those who might be reading this..." mentioned the goblin who was growing ever more anonymous as he posted on , adding "...besides, that which I reveal just ages me doesn't it..."

"...I guess one just learns how to communicate in a different way now..." mentioned the goblin "...I still do that is...", the night seemed a river of long moments to the goblin sat alone with his thoughts once more, "...and besides, none of them want me sad anyway, any more than I would wish that on my children when it's my turn to spectate then, "well yes, your sentiments are appreciated", I would say to them from up there then, adding "well why, I'm your biggest fan, just make this ring side seat worth it for me will you"...", somehow, the goblin was often talking to the ghosts of his past, he just repeated "...I'm just myself with them, after all they're not angels nor demons, they're just "us in the future" are they not..."

is everything ok? you must have a lot on your mind regarding your parents

"...no I'm OK, in fact, my life and this mind seems relatively calm and relaxed now..." replied the goblin truthfully enough, only that he rightly suppressed it on the one hand, while facing the slot here on the other, resulting in his awkward dreams that much resembled an occasional stream of bubbles floating up in an otherwise tranquil pond below, "...besides, it changes nothing does it, thinking about it that is..." repeated the goblin again, while outside, the morning was turning cold with the late season, somehow its melancholy was part of that other scene now, where being joyous would seem unbefitting to it, so what else was there to do but to suppress its inevitable decaying reality below the mind's surface here, leaving only those few telltale bubbles to float up here and there in dreams as any outward sign of it

I often wonder if it is possible to live in modern day society without sacrificing ones morals but then again I often wonder why chicken flavour crisps taste more like chicken that chickens themselves.

It's a funny old world

"...ah "flavor", being a sense, is so subjective to the one sensing it, is it not..." replied the goblin continuing "...so perhaps the image of Britain being not as british then than she actually is, or that line "the devil is no as black as he is painted" springs to mind here...", though the goblin agreed that it almost made one wonder at what one is wondering then, often that wonder seemed better then than the reality here, as if the experience actually spoiled it, "...save for "salt and vinegar" crisps that is, where the brits can really be proud of themselves since they are perfection it seems, so much so, that, faced with a sensuous eager english lass, on the one hand, and a packet of "salt and vinegar" crisps on the other, the choice is such a hard one isn't it, munch, munch..." ventured the goblin at it

"...ah yes, we hit upon that "outer person" problem again, ones photo no less, not fair is it now, something one has no choice about, so on the Internet you can present yourself as the person in the mirror if you like under the graces or ravages of time I suppose, but that's not the true you, not for me at least, nor the you that Interests me now, so tell me then what you would like to look like if you had a magic wand, but, between you and me, this Internet means that I am probably imagining you to be like that already, amazing then how women look so beautiful when they feel beautiful about themselves, and how they flog themselves for that goal of "stunning beauty" which would lose them their parters, so is it their feminine counterpart to male "bodybuilding" I suppose..." the goblin paused, not an easy concept then, continuing "...think about this then, simply if "stunning beauty" were really the type of beauty every man was looking for here, then why don't more women meet that criteria in real life when, in fact, so few do...", a quick gulp of coffee and then "...no, men admire "stunning beauty" yes, who doesn't, but only as "something to look at", and yet, as with the bodybuilding analogy,  firstly, the vanity factor in that "stunning beauty" is a real turnoff here, where secondly, something that few men will openly admit, it is this "incompatibility with themselves" which stops them remaining in a relationship with a "stunning beauty" for long if at all, simply in the end ones parter is just the person one is comfortable with, and although one likes beauty in ones partner "stunning beauty" uneases one in reality, even if men, and women alike, dream of it..."

repost from else, the subject of partner's height

"...with me those relationships seem so long ago that it is hard to tell, or I am almost embarrassed to think of the currency of "accepted cool" at that time and now seeing how much of a pratt I looked by it..." continuing "...no doubt "me then" would look at "me now" and yell "suicide please, I want out", while "me now" always discreetly sweeps "me then" under the "oh well, we were all young once I suppose" carpet...", the goblin thought for a moment "...no, come to think of it, I don't think I actually had a height problem in my past relationships, no it was more an "any girlfriend please" problem, in that, since it was clear what most boys wanted at that age, therefore the underlying question remained what were her plans in return, so depending on the girlfriend at the time, if I remember rightly now, it was something like "Evangelical goblin", followed by "Trotsky goblin", then "National Front goblin", "Footballing goblin", and "walking on hot coals goblin", even "climbing Mount Everest goblin", "peace and love goblin", whatever..." ventured then goblin looking back now, simply the goblin had been a kind of surrogate Barbie doll to each one of them in turn, adding "...but there you have it then, all part of a girlfriend's charm indeed, today I am just normal by comparison, just evident, isn't it, perhaps someone should write a book about it..."

today the smug goblin's crafty plan had finally worked, since, having bought his children "netbooks" he has turned them into mirror images of himself, no, he has gone even one better in fact, since he is at home today while they are in his usual bistro surfing, thus by default the place is both tidy and quiet, somehow  "...MYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..." could be heard from far and wide

repost from else, a gothic "last post" thread

"...rest now xxxxx, we can always continue this in the morning, or at least the idea of "posting something out of oneself" will remain, where in fact, these sites, threads, and members pass on..." mentioned the goblin from his years of posting, adding "...no, what matters isn't the site, nor the thread, nor even the members, where unless we meet we are all just unknown personas now, oh no, what actually matters is "getting ones own posts right to oneself while one still can", which sounds so selfish I know but isn't life a bit too short to surrender all one thought process to those ever pressing concerns of "dailylife", besides who wants to live a life where all one knows of oneself is what one owns, how one looks, or where ones epitaph invariably reads, "xxxxx, while he lived, was the greatest Walmart goer ever"...", upon reflection the goblin wondered in this "journey to self" , what, beyond his own thought and feelings he really had of himself

repost from elsewhere

"...you're doing well xxxxx, the ability to write is at the base of all of this, even though most people feel that they aren't writers because they aren't "published" as if it were the publishing world, and not the readers then, who decided things here..." ventured the goblin, adding "...or, if it's not this writing side for you, I could mention that your posts show you to yourself doesn't it, or that it builds up in you your ability to think in text and pictures, or that it takes snapshots of your life like a diary would, all this then, yes but I guess that if I had to put froward my own reason as to why I continue to post on like this, I would simply repeat that I want to cover the walls of Merlin's cave with meaningful imagery, which is where old age ends up, oh yes that cave is unavoidable I suppose, though by then these cave paintings will be my imagination's escape from there then..."

repost from elsewhere,

and with that the goblin showed saying "...see what happens when you mix your "real life" selves with you Internet personas, you just give people the rod by which they then can flay your backs with, whereas, if you had remained anonymous, what could they hurt you with...", in fact, the goblin simply understood that at the end of the day most sites folded or migrated, that their members came and went, that threads would close, and one would no doubt get banned somewhere for whatever, it just happened it was life, so no, something more fundimental had to be sought here he felt, saying "...look, it isn't what people think of you that matters when one is anonymous, it's getting into the habit of posting before one is too old to perfect it, you against your old age then, you against your "dailylife" too, so it's easy to waste ones short life on all this superficiality here, where don't you want instead to be challenging yourself as to what can come up with for yourself, since, at the end of the day you're the one remaining constant throughout, not the site nor the members..."

the goblin agreed that the forthcoming "currency correction" was almost amusing until one realized that one was probably dealing with the life savings of most people in the western world here, saying "..."currency correction" normally start with a loss of confidence in the financial system, resulting in high inflation, unemployment and panic bank runs, to which the government's first step is to resort to forced loans, coupled with a limit of withdrawals, as seen in Argentina, where as a result, people will then start to hoard money under their mattresses, to which the government will then introduce a new bank note thus forcing people to convert their hoard at a per person limitation, as seen in Vietnam, perhaps coupled by a "surrender of bullion" act, as seen in America, resulting in the currency devaluing to the lowest level after which, seeing that "system collapse" and resulting anarchy are not the goals here, things will go back to normal again, where the party that has instigated or witnessed this "currency correction" will lose the election having everyone believe that it is over and that it will never happen again, not realizing that their new state of poverty is, in fact, the spur to getting them productive again in a system where too much wealth is counter productive, is it not...", the goblin was just calmly watching its approach now, concluding "...funny how the media would have us look down at green shoots instead of the horizon here..."

repost from elsewhere, a political "last post" thread, just sharing

the goblin had looked at most of those problems mentioned above in the previous posts and simply saw them as the very same newsworthy distractions used to avert ones attention to what was actually happening around one now, saying “...look closer at each one in turn, and simply ask yourself where it relates to you here, notice how the news is not telling you about the dollar has been bought up to the hilt by China, in that China needs to keep its currency low in comparison to the dollar, so China has been supporting the US dollar, yes, but not for america's sake, for china's own sake it seems...", and with that the goblin, seeing that they wanted to turn evreyone's attention to north korea here, simply wondered which country north korea was actually entirely dependent on, which was china of course, so it's a distraction again, China sphere of interest then...", whereupon the goblin turned to africa, where none of the western powers ever wants to get involved knowing that it meant indefinite sustained commitment here, leaving perhaps to news of iran too, "...now iran is not really the US's problem, by proximity it is israel's problem is it not, yet it serves both for the US's, and iran interests too, to go into saber rattling like this, that is, since it diverts the attention of their people from the actual financial downturn here...", simply the goblin noticed that the dollar was now worth about half of what it had been ten years ago, asking "...well now, do you honestly see something more imminent or greater than this devaluation of dollar reality as the real event of our age..."

("...perhaps because the life you want is the life you could least live with..." replied the goblin, adding "...a tough life makes one tough then...")

repost from elsewhere, a native american "last post" thread

nice pic. i am not as good with words as you brother Goblin. i sometimes stumble and my spelling  oops  when i have time i sitdown and write a few storys

the goblin too, was a bad speller of sorts, so he had to repost often across many sites, just to correct away those bugs from whatever he wrote that is, saying "...anyway, what matters is not what the others read here, no, only what one wants to say to oneself by it, why, because in years from now non of this will be remembered and yet one will have mastered this medium in ones own way, that's both the goal and the reward of posting here..", somehow the image of the native american, in that film starring Johny Depp "dead man", sprang to mind here, the parallel of it then, "...incredible wasn't he, somehow one could see what the author was getting at by that character then, that a powerful intellect, indebted to literature and poetry, feeling that fate had offered him this role of sending off to the next world a white man who happens to be called William Blake as in his favorite poet, an action of no base logic, nor self interest, nor personal gain, just something seeming right to him here..."

me

the goblin was having a problem with "me" as he saw them, perhaps the goblin was mad too, but, at least, the goblin was free, and would never turn himself to stone by what he did like the person writing this had, saying "... surely then, it's better to remain unknown as this goblin than "set in stone" of either a publishing world or your "dailylife" now...", simply their minds mused over the image of someone saying of person writing this here "see that person over there, well he's that goblin on the Internet", and then noting the observer's sudden disappointment at it all, but the goblin would laughed now, saying "...serves you right then, because you're "set in stone" of course, but not me, I'm alive and free until you break this spell here..."

repost from elsewhere, just sharing,

Quote from: xxxxx
I can't be bloody bothered to make myself look pretty right now but I've got to because quite frankly, I look like a boy.

"...no no no, first you just need to be yourself without makeup, and then if he shows interest, amaze and reward him by wearing makeup, otherwise you force yourself into a corner here, or you will be jealous of something as unimportant as those looks which most men don't really care about anyway..." mentioned the goblin looking out over the frozen rooftops of the cold city of geneva now, "...ah my beloved city of vanity..." he joked at it but either way he still had to go out into this cold now, no different from those "hunter gatherer" days then, same old palaver

repost from elsewhere, someone who had posted  a music stream by satie

the goblin loved that piece by satie, saying "...quite haunting isn't it...", while softly outside the quiet night too slowly reminded the goblin that he should have been asleep by now, if not before, and yet, in reposting his ideas here, he had got caught up in their editing again, for once more those little typos clearly had all the hallmark of the whyly dislexsick fairy, and where not her actually, the likes of ambiguity, contradiction and vagueness vied for the goblin's attention once more, "...oh yes I'm mad..." said the goblin at it all again, continuing "...indeed..., ah but not any old madness will do here, will it, no each studied madness has to retain a conveyed continuity throughout, well, if it is to be credible to the reader that is, for like hypnosis, it is both suggestive, and will only works through the imagination of a willing subject...", the goblin knew there was more, but the clock and the sandman were quite adamant in their shouting at him now, "...off to bed with you goblin..." they were saying again "...for tomorrow you'll regret having not slept sooner..." but the goblin knew that there was always regret where given a choice, or else it wouldn't be a choice at all, and thought on regardless of the late hour's passing

("...long time no see..." said the goblin, who had fighting trolls of late)

repost from elsewhere

"...why thank you my good human, if I may so bold as to call you one that is..." replied the goblin once more, while outside, the snow storm had subsided enough to let the minions of the moneygod continue their endless endeavors in this beloved city of affluence "Geneva & co", and well, into this then, dressed like a rather oldish teletubby, armed with his laptop and under the influence of caffeine, the lone goblin readied himself, without much relish mind you, for yet another tromp to the bank, read withdrawals here, the post office, read pay one tithes then, and the bistro, read lick wounds and drown sorrows in more coffee, so he hits on singing "...we're off to see the blizzard, the wonderful blizzard that was, that was, that was because, tralala...",  exits, only to take one foot outside the door and is simply buried in snow, where surfacing some distance further down the street, well, at the bistro no less, thinks aloud "...never mind your silly "secret of fire" humans, just tell me how one remains sane in all this "dailylife", I will let you live to do..."

repost from elsewhere, the topic of immigration legal or otherwise in the US

watching from the sidelines, the goblin appreciated both sides of the argument, knowing that all could agree that things couldn't remain as they are, and that some breaking point was coming, and that authoritarianism of one sort or another was probably going to result from it too, saying "...good, bad or whatever, the myth that we can become rich under this present system is wearing thin here, and if history is anything to go by, those who had flooded in will flood out, if only out of fear of being on the wrong side of that xenophobia which erupts in resentment towards the system each time, and yes, america hasn't come anywhere near that point as yet maybe, but there are countless places in the world where it happened overnight, and usually in those very places where it was thought most unlikely, yet where too, resentment had been slowly simmering over many decades it seems.."
