Thank ya thank ya! Thank you Princess Buttercup and Remember911 for the birthday wishes. It was a triple threat as it was also my Mom's birthday and Father's Day all in one shot. There was some good celebrating, so that ought to hold me for another year. I'm the lucky new member of a new club - The 40-something club. I had my membership to the 30-something club revoked...something about over-staying my welcome, but that's another story. I don't feel a day over 38...
Some friends took me out to a poker tournament at the local pub. I came in 9th place out of 30+ people. Unfortunately, I did not make the Final Table as only the top 8 make it. I just missed it by THAT much, as Maxwell Smart would say. I was the "bubble" guy. Feh! Disappointing as hell, but not bad considering I hadn't played poker since New Year's and it was my very first tournament outside of family and friends.
