I LOVED "The Honeymooners". The characters were bigger than life, but believable! Jackie Gleason's buffoonish "Ralph Kramden" was gold. Audrey Meadow's "Alice" was a perfect foil. Art Carney's "Ed Norton" made people tune in every week. My only complaint is they didn't use Joyce Randolph enough as "Trixie".
Although Ralph was pretty horrible at times, it was obvious he loved Alice, and she love him. He would threaten to send her "to the moon", and do a lot of yelling, but at the end of nearly every episode, he would calm down, collect himself, and say "Baby, you're the greatest", and plant a big kiss on her.
Jackie Gleason could make me laugh and cry within minutes of each emotion. He was a truly underrated actor.
